San Francisco Hill Hike & Village Tour

1️⃣ Meet, Greet & Boat Ride

📍 Meet at Tree Coffee House at 2:45 PM. Your guide will greet you and walk the group to Tortuguero’s main dock, where you’ll board a private boat headed for San Francisco Hill.

Along the way, keep your eyes open for monkeys, iguanas, and birds — your guide will slow down or stop if wildlife is spotted, with binoculars ready to share the view.

2️⃣ Nature Walk to the Hill

🦥 Arriving at the protected area, you’ll check in with your entrance ticket and begin a slow 30–45 minute nature walk toward the base of the hill.

This is where the guide truly shines — pointing out hidden wildlife, plants, and stories of the forest you wouldn’t catch on your own.

3️⃣ Climb to the Summit

🌄 The climb begins! You’ll ascend San Francisco Hill in about 45 minutes, following a quiet, shaded trail.

At the top, take in the full panorama: the sea, the rivers, the canals, and both Tortuguero and San Francisco villages.

You’ll rest here for about 20 minutes, just in time to catch the golden Caribbean sunset lighting up the lagoon below.

4️⃣ Descent, Village Visit & Ice Cream

🌴 After a 20–25 minute descent, you’ll walk to San Francisco Village, a lesser-known local community across the water from Tortuguero.

Here you’ll explore the town, learn about its history, and end with a stop at the best ice cream shop in Tortuguero — a sweet reward after the climb.

🍦 After relaxing with your treat, you’ll take your private boat back to Tortuguero, arriving just after sunset.
